The Delta is a phantom-powered ribbon microphone that was launched a few months after our best-selling Sigma mic was released. As ribbon mics work beautifully on guitar amps, we wanted to create a ribbon mic that was robust enough to cope with the higher sound pressure levels of guitar amp, as well as instruments like trumpet, trombone, saxophone and drums.
With the same beautiful smooth sound as Sigma, but with slightly reduced sensitivity and much more protection around the delicate ribbon element, the Delta was a hit from day one, and is still hugely popular on the second-hand market, especially as we offer a ribbon replacement service if necessary.
